About Cartsaver
Cartsaver is a Built for Shopify app by Xtnd that has cash on delivery customers confirm their orders on WhatsApp or SMS before the merchant ships, then uses the same WhatsApp conversation for order updates, cart recovery, one-tap cross-selling, reviews and surveys, and WhatsApp marketing campaigns, through Meta’s official WhatsApp Business API.
Who makes Cartsaver
Cartsaver is made by Xtnd, a software company in Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt. Xtnd builds Shopify apps, e-commerce integrations and Laravel web platforms, and Cartsaver is its own product.
Cartsaver launched on the Shopify App Store on 20 May 2025. It works only with Shopify stores, and the Shopify App Store is the only place to install it.
Why Cartsaver exists
In cash on delivery markets, a share of orders are never meant to be received: a wrong number, a prank, a bot, or a buyer who changed their mind. The merchant still pays to pack and ship them, and pays again when the parcel comes back. Calling every customer to confirm costs staff time and doesn’t scale.
Cartsaver moves that check to the channel customers already use. Each COD order gets a WhatsApp or SMS message, the customer confirms with one tap or a code, and the merchant ships only confirmed orders. Once a customer has confirmed on WhatsApp, the same conversation carries the order updates, cross-sells, review requests and support replies that follow.
On the Shopify App Store
- Listing: Cartsaver on the Shopify App Store. The listing has been renamed since launch; it was first listed as “OTP - CoD Order Verification”. It is the same app.
- Built for Shopify: Cartsaver holds Shopify’s Built for Shopify status, which Shopify gives to apps that meet its highest standards for performance, design and integration.
- Rating: 5.0 from 61 reviews on the Shopify App Store (as of 23 October 2026). Read the reviews.
- Pricing: a Free plan and four paid plans, billed in USD by Shopify. See pricing.
How Cartsaver sends WhatsApp messages
Cartsaver sends WhatsApp messages through Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform (the Cloud API), not through WhatsApp Web automation or a personal number. Merchants can start on Cartsaver’s own sender from the moment they install, and on the Scale and Ultra plans they can connect their own WhatsApp Business number and brand name through Meta’s sign-up flow. Why this matters: the official WhatsApp API vs unofficial workarounds.
Markets and languages
- Merchants: most Cartsaver merchants are cash on delivery stores in Egypt, the Gulf states and South Asia. WhatsApp messages can reach customers in any country.
- SMS: branded SMS sender IDs are set up on the Egyptian mobile networks.
- App languages: the Cartsaver admin is available in English, Arabic, Urdu and Hindi.
- Support: in Arabic and English.

Not to be confused with
Cartsaver by Xtnd is not related to other apps named CartSaver or Cart Saver, such as Activated Apps’ Cart Saver, Addify’s persistent cart app or “CS: AI Abandoned Cart Recovery”. If a page describes a “Cart Saver” for saved B2B carts or for email cart reminders, it is a different product. The Shopify App Store listing for this Cartsaver is apps.shopify.com/cartsaver-otp-cod, currently titled “Cartsaver CoD”.
