Cartsaver's logs and analytics are the record of what happened to every cash on delivery order after checkout: whether the confirmation message went out, whether the customer confirmed, ignored or cancelled, and how much revenue the follow-up messages brought back. You use them to find where COD orders drop out.

This guide is for Shopify merchants who already use Cartsaver and want to turn that data into decisions, such as changing the message delay, the wait before unconfirmed orders are cancelled, or the verification flow itself. Cartsaver is a Built for Shopify app by Xtnd that confirms cash on delivery orders on WhatsApp or SMS before you ship, then uses the same WhatsApp conversation for order updates, abandoned cart recovery, one-tap cross-sells, reviews and campaigns, through the official WhatsApp Business API.

## Where does Cartsaver keep its logs and analytics?

Cartsaver keeps its data in four places: the Logs page for every message and its status, the dashboard for verification, revenue and credits, the Shopify order itself for tags and risk level, and Shopify Flow for three triggers you can automate on. Each answers a different question.

The table below compares them:

| Where | What it shows | The question it answers |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Logs page | Every message, with channel, recipient, country, status and time; CSV export per tab | Did this message go out, and what happened to it? |
| Dashboard | Verified, pending and failed orders; pre-checkout contacts and orders; revenue generated; message credits left | How is verification going overall, and is it paying off? |
| Shopify orders | Cartsaver's tags, the order risk level and the Cartsaver block on the order page | Which specific orders were confirmed, timed out or cancelled? |
| Shopify Flow | Three Cartsaver triggers you can automate on | What should happen automatically when a customer responds? |

## The message logs, tab by tab

The Logs page has a tab for each kind of message. You can page through each tab, and export any tab to CSV to sort, filter and search it in a spreadsheet.

*The OTP Verification tab lists each verification message with its channel and status. Newer versions of the app add tabs for abandoned cart and follow-up messages.*

- **OTP Verification.** Verification messages and codes, such as those sent by the pre-checkout pop-up or Fast Checkout, with the channel and recipient for each. Each entry shows *sent*, or *verified* once the customer entered the code or tapped the WhatsApp confirmation button; when delivery fails, the provider’s error appears in place of the status.
- **Order Notification.** Order updates sent when an order is created, fulfilled or cancelled, with the notification type for each.
- **Abandoned Messages.** WhatsApp reminders sent to shoppers who left checkout.
- **Order Follow-Ups.** Messages sent after the order, such as review requests with a Buy Again button. Statuses here include *sent*, *clicked* and *converted*.

When a provider refuses a message, the log shows the error in place of the status, for example a number that is not on WhatsApp. If a number keeps producing junk orders, you can block it straight from its row in the log; Cartsaver then stops sending codes to it.

*The Order Notification tab tracks the updates sent after an order is created, fulfilled or cancelled.*

## The dashboard: verification, revenue and credits

- **Verification.** Pending, verified and failed orders over the last 30 days. Failed includes orders that were cancelled because nobody confirmed.
- **Pre-checkout.** If you verify before checkout, the total unique contacts who started, how many verified, and how many orders they placed.
- **Revenue generated by Cartsaver.** Sales from abandoned cart recovery, cross-sells, order follow-ups and campaigns, so you can see what the WhatsApp conversation earns beyond verification.
- **Message credits.** What is left of this cycle's allowance. Credits refresh every 30 days and do not roll over, and sending stops when they run out.

Two features keep their own numbers. Fast Checkout has a funnel of store visits, checkout opens, completed details and placed orders for today or the last 7, 30 or 90 days. Cross-selling reports messages sent, completed sales, conversion rate, revenue and top products for the last 30 days. Campaigns report visits, orders, revenue and ROAS for each campaign.

## How does Cartsaver mark orders in Shopify?

Cartsaver writes its result onto each Shopify order as a tag, such as Contact verified by OTP, Verification timeout or Customer cancelled order, and moves the order's risk level: pending while the confirmation is out, cleared when the customer confirms, and high when nobody does. Filter your orders list by these tags.

Cartsaver writes its results onto the Shopify order, so you can filter your orders list by tag:

- **✅ Contact verified by OTP** plus the channel, such as **✅ Verified via WhatsApp** or **✅ Verified via SMS**, on confirmed orders. Orders you verify by hand get **✅ Contact verified by Admin**.
- **⏲ Verification timeout**, with how long the order waited and whether it was marked high risk or cancelled, on orders nobody confirmed.
- **❌ Customer cancelled order** and **❌ Cancelled via WhatsApp** when the customer taps Cancel.
- **🛒 Cross-sell added**, **🔶 Recovered by Cartsaver** and **🔶 Buy Again by Cartsaver** on orders the follow-up messages produced.

The order's risk level moves with it: pending while the confirmation is out, cleared when the customer confirms, high when nobody does.

## Shopify Flow triggers

Cartsaver adds three triggers to Shopify Flow: **Customer confirmed order via WhatsApp**, **Customer requested order cancellation** and **Order verification timeout**. Use them to act on the funnel without watching it, for example adding a "ready to ship" tag on confirmation, notifying your team when a customer cancels, or adding timed-out orders to a list someone calls by phone.

## How do you read your COD funnel?

A post-checkout COD funnel has four steps: order placed, confirmation sent, customer responds and order shipped. Work out your rate at each step from the dashboard and logs over the same 30 days, compare it with your previous month, and use the table below to match each drop-off to a fix.

Compare with your own previous month rather than with someone else's store. Each drop-off points to a different fix:

| What you see | Likely cause | What to change |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Many failed entries in OTP Verification | Wrong numbers, or customers not on WhatsApp | Make the phone field required; read the errors; consider pre-checkout with SMS for Egyptian numbers |
| Many codes sent but never entered | Customers start pre-checkout but do not finish entering the code | Check the pop-up text, or switch to one-tap WhatsApp confirmation after the order |
| Many pending orders, then timeouts | Customers see the message too late, or the wait is too short | Lengthen the wait before unconfirmed orders are cancelled; try a short message delay |
| Many customers tap Cancel | Second thoughts about price, delivery time or the product | Read the products involved; add delivery details to the order message |
| Follow-ups clicked but not converted | The offer or the landing cart does not match the message | Review the cross-sell products or the discount |
| Credits run out before the cycle ends | Message volume above your plan | Upgrade before big sales; see the [pricing table](https://cartsaver.net/#pricing) |

## A simple weekly routine

1. Open the dashboard and note verified, pending and failed orders against last week.
2. Export the OTP Verification tab and sort by status to see the failed messages and their errors.
3. In Shopify, filter orders by the verification timeout tag and look for a pattern: product, time of day, governorate.
4. Block repeat offenders from the log.
5. Check the revenue Cartsaver generated and your credits left before planning promotions.
6. Change one setting at a time, so next week's numbers tell you whether it worked.

## Worked example: timeouts after midnight

A fashion store notices that most of its verification timeouts are orders placed late at night. The logs show the WhatsApp confirmations were sent, so delivery is not the problem; customers are simply asleep when the 60-minute wait runs out. The owner raises the wait to 12 hours and keeps unconfirmed orders on mark as high risk. The next week, more of those late orders are confirmed the following morning, and the remaining high risk list is short enough to review by hand. For specific errors in the logs, the [troubleshooting guide](https://cartsaver.net/help/troubleshooting-guide/) explains each cause, and the [Cartsaver docs troubleshooting section](https://docs.cartsaver.net/troubleshooting/) has step-by-step checks.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I export Cartsaver logs?

Yes. Each tab of the Logs page exports to CSV, so you can search, filter and share the data in a spreadsheet.

### How do I see my verification rate?

The dashboard shows verified, pending and failed orders for the last 30 days. Divide verified orders by the total to get your rate, and compare it month to month.

### Which Shopify Flow triggers does Cartsaver provide?

Three: "Customer confirmed order via WhatsApp", "Customer requested order cancellation" and "Order verification timeout".

### What is a good confirmation rate for COD orders?

It varies widely with the product, price, traffic source and country, so there is no universal benchmark worth trusting. Track your own rate over time and judge each change by whether it moves your numbers.
